Welcome to My Teenie Two site!!!
I am Robert John Escobal, Started building this wonderful all metal plane mid 1995. I bought the plans and material kit from Cal Parker including the Ivo prop propeller for a cool $2700. Building this plane is very educational and is a lot of fun. A lot of head scratching and common sense in involed cuz, the plans are simple ( only 7 sheets and a small pamplet ), but I think it is enough to build a nice flyable plane frugally. I can say, I did 90% of all the building alone w/o help from anyone till the Teenie Two forum was created. The forum is very helpful w/ lots of intelligent contributors, then came the Teene Two Gallary w/c help a lot ( a picture is worth a thousand words ).
The engine used is a stock 1600cc air cooled VW. I got the whole stock engine from a friend in '96 for a $100 bucks. The only parts I was able to use from it was the case, oil pump & heads. Everything else I got new from a VW auto shop. All internal steel parts where magafluxed before assembly as per Cal's Parker plans. The prop hub is from Pops prop press fit. The carburator is a Walbro carb also from Pops prop. I am using a slick magneto that is used by the military for there generators according to the guy from Pops prop, It works very well up to now. The magneto is the same as the one used for aircraft but is less expensive. After the engine was rebuilt according to plans, I found it hard to hand prop, so I made a temporary starter using a stock starter & a lightend ( took out a lot of meat till it weighed 10lb ) stock flywheel. Mounted the starter & flywheel to the prop side of the engine and started it. After the engine was broken-in, I did not need the starter & flywheel + battery, so I took it off. This contraption was a heavy one, I am glad it is off the engine.
